About Yabberup Hall
Yabberup Hall stands as a testament to the rich history and vibrant community spirit of the Preston Valley. Constructed in 1896 by the esteemed South West builder Robert Donald and the industrious Charles brothers, who hand-made the bricks on-site, the hall was built under the Grant-in-Aid scheme, which supported the creation of agricultural halls throughout Western Australia. With its foundation rooted in community effort and government support, Yabberup Hall has been a central hub for local gatherings, arts, and cultural events for over a century.
Today, Yabberup Hall continues to be the heart of the Preston Valley Artisan Trail, serving as a key venue where artists, craftspeople, and visitors converge to celebrate the local artisan culture. The hall not only hosts a variety of events from workshops to exhibitions but also stands as a historical exhibit itself, showcasing the architectural and communal heritage of the area. Its role in the Artisan Trail highlights its ongoing importance, making it a beloved landmark where the community’s artistic talents are proudly displayed and appreciated.
