Artist Profiles
Carolyn Hayes
Carolyn is a budding artist who dabbles in a range of mediums, from water colour and acrylics, to painting on ceramic tiles and glass. Her style is bright, cheery and colourful. Carolyn also turns her hand to other crafty creations including decoupage and dried flower arrangements, candles, pot pouri, hand-made soaps and body products and a range of mouth-watering preserves.
Jill Lynch - MOOSAICS
I have been doing mosaics for 9 years. I love colour and creating omething that's different. I'm a member of the Donnybrook Arts and Crafts Club and a site holder at Donnybrook Artisans. I love to recycle and create. This will be my 4th Preston Art Trail, and looking forward to it, immensley. Hope to see you there.
Elaine Sheridan
I began making journals 30 years ago, I am inspired and enjoy different techniques to alter paper with inks, rust and gel prints. My journals are stitched and pieced together by hand, also my bowls are all wrapped by hand.I lived in central Australia for many years and am inspired by the colour and harsh landscape and rugged beauty of the desert.
Frances Kilpatrick
I live in Donnybrook, Western Australia and am self-taught, working in water colour and mixed media since about 2014. The two big influences on my art are: the natural beauty around where I live, and the wonderful children’s books I enjoyed when young. My pictures are meant to be bright, cheerful and uplifting, and often feature small animals and details for people (of all ages) to enjoy finding. I feel honoured that my two entries in the 2023 Colour Exhibition were chosen for the Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup Acquisition.
They have been placed in the local libraries - one in Donnybrook and one in Balingup - in the children’s reading areas. Also in 2023, one of my pieces won first prize in the 'Quirky and Colourful' art competition in Bridgetown. In 2024 one of my paintings won first prize in the Puzzletown Pick A Puzzle art exhibition in Bridgetown.
I make:
Abstract paintings with watercolour and botanical line drawings,
Mixed media pieces with collage and dried plants,
Some triptych and 3-D works,
Paintings in the style of children’s book illustrations.
